Dejuan Wood of Commerce blasts out of the blocks in the 400m

It came down to the wire with Commerce  hoping to  hold on to their slim lead with top seeded Turner County going into the 4x400, and they did racing to 5th place giving the Tigers a team title. Commerce went into finals having 55.5 points with only a few scoring opportunities left. DaJuan Wood did his part scoring a pair of Bronze medals in the 300h and 400m dash. Turner County scored 47 points on Saturday led by Trendarius Henderson won 2 Individual Golds in the hurdles events and was the lead off man on their 1st place 4x400 squad. It was a tight battle for the last 2 team Podium spots with Montgomery County placing 3rd with Gordon Lee claiming 4th.

Greene County nipped Mitchell County at the finish line taking 4x100 Gold in 42.82

Daikyvius Phillips from Macon County placed 1st in the 400m dash clocking a 49.52

Deion Carter from Emanuel County Institute took the 100m dash title going 10.89

Trendarius Henderson (c) of Turner County swept both the 110 (14.44) and later the 300h (38.82) 

Darius Campbell from Hancock Central raced to the 800m title at 2:03.14

Demetrius Fleming from Greene County sped to 200m dash Gold going 22.24

Turner County won the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:27.06

Gordon Lee celebrates their team title

Gordon Lee could only sit and watch Saturday having only a couple of big scoring chances in Finals. The Lady Trojans had racked up big points on Day 1 & 2 behind Gracie O' Neal in the distance events and with field events wins by Ansley Whitley (Discus) and Kaylee Brown in the HJ and PV. Addison Sturdivant capitalized in her 2 races giving the Trojans a big boost sweeping both hurdles events, first the 100h at 16.05 and later the 300h posting a 47.61 which clinched the title. Defending champ Telfair County led by sprinter Brandy Mackey  ran wild on Saturday speeding to 56 points, but fell short by 9 points. Marion County powered by Febbie King ascended the team Podium 3rd followed by a game Washington-Wilkes team led by Tycoriah Danner. 

Washington-Wilkes got off to blazing start at Finals winning the 4x100 relay at 49.19

Febbie King from Marion County was too strong in the 400m grabbing the Gold in 58.45

Tycoriah Danner of Washington-Wilkes sprinted to Gold in the 100m dash at 12.32

Addison Sturdivant of Gordon Lee is seen here winning the 100h at 16.05 and later added another Gold medal taking the 300h win in 47.61

Unbelievable finish in the 800m run with 3 gals leaning at the tape with De'Aisha Stephens of Georgia Military Prep seizing the Gold turning in a time of 2:28.20

Brandy Mackey got some payback in the 200m dash taking the win at 25.66

Telfair County closed out their meet by winning the 4x400 relay posting a time of 4:10.01
