MileSplit GA will be onsite at 4 different meets this weekend shooting video and photos. The weather forecast for Saturday is tame with temps ranging from 48-60, low winds and sunny , perhaps the best conditions of 2019 for fast times. Day 2 Finals on Monday look ominous with thunderstorms to possibly deal with..
Gwinnett County- Is traditionally a very large meet with Varsity and JV divisions from almost 25 schools competing for county bragging rights. Rich Castro will be onsite shooting all the race action from Saturday & Monday weather permitting at Mill Creek HS in Hoschton just off I-85. There will be some great distance races in this meet to watch..
DeKalb County- MileSplit Georgia has not been onsite at the DeKalb County Championships dating back to 2008. Its been a long time coming, but we decided to come back this season, with Marc Logan of Flash Forward Photography shooting a photo gallery from Saturday's events along with cover pics from Saturday's action. DeKalb County will feature 'speed to burn' with many Elite performances expected. The meet is being held at Buck Godfrey Stadium (formerly Panthersville Stadium)
Cobb County- This meet has 18 schools competing and traditionally has some of the top athletes in Georgia competing for Cobb County titles. MileSplit GA will be onsite Day 1 Saturday shooting race action of all the running events. Matt Almand will once again be onsite. This season, Marietta HS will be hosting the meet. Expect to see video Sunday morning from Day 1.
Metro Atlanta Championships- This meet seems to grow every year, and now has 16 schools competing in it at Pace Academy's Walsh Field, including many very strong private school powers, with the likes of Marist, St. Pius X, Holy Innocents, Blessed Trinity, Lovett, and let's not forget Westminster.
