Courtney Madison anchors Vidalia's 4x100 squad to Gold
Vidalia won the girls team title behind star athlete Courtney Madison and benefitted from false start in the 4x400 by Washington County. Madison left Albany with 4 Gold medals and a silver. She began her barrage easily winning the LJ with a leap of 18-04. Vidalia began finals taking the 4x100 in 48.99.. Madison took the 100h in a race a bit more competitive than expected posting a 14.75 and then won the 300h going 45.16. They were deadlocked at 50 with WACO as they hit the track for the final event, and went on to place 2nd at 4:12.12

Mecca Jackson of Washington County takes 400m Gold
Washington County did place 2nd as a team 1 point ahead of 3-AA rival East Laurens. Shatrice Dixon scored in the field getting 3rd in the LJ (17-08) and 6th in the TJ. The Golden Hawks began Saturday taking 4th in the 4x100, but Mecca Jackson gave them a spark taking Gold in the 400m at 57.26 and later a silver in the 200m (25.45) Nijeria Jordan took bronze in the 100h (15.40) and later 4th in the 300h. Its unfortunate they false started in the 4x400, as they had a pr coming in at 4:09.19

Kennedee Williams of East Laurens
Its strange how state meet outcomes can be much different than a region meet's. East Laurens won the 3-AA meet by 20 points over WACO, but the Golden Hawks had larger caliber entries at state. Kennedee Williams won a close race in the 800m with a time of 2:24.59 and took 6th (1600m) Ja'Mya Canady found Gold in the TJ with a mark of 38-2.50 Zaria Battle placed 3rd in the 300h (47.15) Tyra Moore placed 4th in the 100m and Deasia Lowther placed 5th in the Shot. The Lady Falcons came up just short of catching WACO, finishing 5th in the 4x400.
Jeff Davis ascended the team Podium 4th, which isn't too shabby after graduating stud Morgan Carelock. Keiana Littleton sped to silver in the 100m at 12.25 and took 4th (200m) Kendriana McDuffie was 5th (300h) The Jackets' picked up 17.5 points in feld events as Daneshia Wooten placed 3rd in the discus (109-01) with Mariah Gibbs taking 5th and later 4th in the Shot Put.
2A BOYS
Metrius Fleming of Elbert County was the star of 2A boys
Elbert County scored 51 (2 points more than in the virtual meet) and won their first state title since 2011. The Rams benefitted from both the field events and from finals. they began scoring Thursday with 14 points in the LJ, including Gold for Metrius Fleming with a mark of 22-11.25 with Que Ramsey added a 4th going 21-04.50 and Bryan Bradford took 4th place in the Discus. The Rams began finals racing to silver in the 4x100 at 42.57. Fleming struck Gold again winning the 110h at 14.20 and CJ Walton finished 2nd in the 200m posting a 22.41. After the 300h, the team title had been clinched and Elbert and they closed out their scoring placing 4th in the 4x400.
Guy Gober from Rabun County led the Tigers to 2nd as a team
Rabun County's fireworks came from Guy Gober as he swept the distance events earning 2 Golds. Gober first won the 1600 on Thursday clocking a 4:31.00 and followed that up Friday. holding off a pair of Banks County harriers taking the 3200 at 10:13. Grayson Mitchem (5th) and Trent Mitchell (7th) picked up 5.5 points in the vault. During finals Jacob Barry placed 3rd in the 400m (50.66), Justin Wilkes picked up a bronze in the 800m (2:00.96)

Chance Whitman from Screven County seen winning the 100m
Screven County almost maxed out with the few entries they had scoring 36 points taking 3rd as a team. CJ Wright got things started taking Gold in the discus with a toss of 159-01 and later took 2nd in the Shot Put with a mark of 50-10. Chance Whitman was victorious in the 100m (10.73) and placed 2nd in the 200m (22.00)
In an extremely close battle for the final team Podium spot Banks County scored 35 points sliding in by a point over both Bleckley County and Benedictine. The Leopards scored all their points before finals Saturday. They picked up 14 points in the 3200m behind Griffin Stephens 2nd place run in 10:18 with Hunter Cochran a couple strides back at 10:19 and Jimmy Cochran ran to 4th in the 1600m race. Jackson Ramey slung the discus 140-3 earning silver and Sean Hall vaulted to bronze at 11-00
