The Eagle's Landing Chick-fil-A Invitational brought together 29 teams in McDonough this past Saturday. There were a total of 23 MileSplit Silver Elite performances achieved. A photo gallery of the event is loaded on the meet page as Marc Logan of Flash Forward Photography/MileSplit GA was onsite.
Veterans' Girls were the Team Champs scoring 110 points, with Stockbridge 2nd and host Eagle's Landing 3rd. Shaianne Sipsey of Veterans had a gigantic day. Sipsey earned 3 Golds (Individual) and 2 Silvers (in the relays) propelling the War Hawks to the team title. Shaianne, first won the TJ with a bound of 36-1.5, then hit the track sweeping the 400m (56.99) and later the 200m (24.92)
Mackenzie Walls from Veterans swept the distance events, first going 11:27 in the 3200m and later 5:15 in the 1600. (Erin Leonard of Jones County was enterd, but dnr) and Amari Askew won the 100m dash in 12.40 for Veterans.
Darci Khan of Stockbridge is shown winning the 100h at 14.17.
The Boys team competition was won by ever improving East Coweta HS (101) with 27 point margin of victory over Alpharetta with defending AAAAA champ Cedar Shoals 3rd. Kyle Harkabus won the 1600m in 4:21, Braden Ray took the 3200m (10:19), Amari Strickland won the HJ with a bar of 6-02, Konner Johnson took the PV with a bar of 11-0 and Joshua Render won the Shot with a put of 49-11.
Kyle Harkabus of East Coweta continued his winning ways taking the win in the 1600m at 4:21.03
Marcellus Boykin of SW DeKalb had a big day sweeping the sprints. Boykin took the 100m in 10.64 and a couple hours later went 21.85 in the 200m race.
Latrell Murray from nearby Luella, took 300m hurdles Gold posting a 38.50, but was nipped in the 110h by FPD's Titus Moore (14.44) in a photo finish.
