The Eagle's Landing Chick Fil A Invitational is once again at Eagle's Landing High School. The meet begun at Eagle's Landing Christian Academy and will return to that school once the track renovations are complete.
Perhaps the premier event will be the boys 100m dash. 10 boys have run under 11. Luckily there will be prelims of the 100m dash in the morning with one heat finals in the afternoon. World Champ Christian Coleman holds the stadium record. Could these guys make a run at it?
There are marquee athletes in most of the events. Two of the best distance runners in the state headline the distance events. Erin Leonard of Jones County appears to be getting healthy. Her and Kyle Harkebus of East Coweta will be challenged by Mackenze Walls of Veterans and Robert Chappell of Alpharetta.
Another big name is Shaianne Sipsey of Veterans who looks to put her name in the record books in the long sprints. Darci Khan of Stockbridge and Latrell Murray of Luella are the headline hurdles. In the girls discus there is a potential AAAAA state preview when Soteria Russell of Carver, Kamaria Horton of Eagle's Landing and Kaitlyn Gott of Locust Grove square off. One are to watch will be the jump pits when the Cedar Shoals duo of Markell Allen and Cameron Hudson jump against brand new 23' jumper Sean Queen of Eagle's Landing Christian.
The team trophies will be hotly contested between East Coweta and Alpharetta on the boys side and Veterans, Stockbridge and the Eagle's Landing High School girls.
