Nyman and Fultz are the best 1-2 combo in 5A and maybe the best in the State this year. Their pack stepped up at Panther Invite on their home course to win with a 16:51 team average. Will be a very close battle with McIntosh head to head
2
Off this weekend. They opened up fast on a fast course at Blastow. Their #3 gives helps to equalize the 1-2 punch of SM. Really no way to separate the top 2 teams as of now.
3
There is a noticeable drop off at third from the top 2 teams. However, lightning fast courses like Bob Blastow are not the specialty of the Angoras. They go to work on the hills of Carrollton. Is there enough left from the recent string of Championships to make another run?
4
It appears they were splitting their varsity at the recent Panther Invite. If you add in their top 7 runners from both races, they have a narrow advantage of the 5-7 teams. The final podium spot is very much up in the air.
5
They had a solid pack at the Battle of Atlanta, narrowly edging out host school Union Grove. They were off last week while UG had a solid performance at the Panther Invite, but they get the nod from the head to head win at BOA.
6
4th place (17:52) at Panther Invite. Their pack is starting to gel, but they need their front runners to step up if they are to repeat on the podium.
7
Eagles has a very strong 1-2 with Jackson and Russell. However, depth is a concern. They will need the bottom half of their varsity to step up in order to leapfrog the teams ahead.
8
Another Southside team making its appearance in the top 10. Solid pack that can sneak up on some teams as they drop time.
9
Carrollton has had a distance running resurgence the last few years as they look to give the home course fans something to cheer about in November
10
Relative newcomer to the Boys’ top 10 rankings. Solid pack that looks to make some noise as the season continues.
