Saucony Battle of Atlanta Preview

 Saturday August 26th marks the 10th annual Battle of Atlanta Cross-Country Invitational at Nash Farms in Henry County.  What started as a small meet ten years ago has grown into one of the largest cross-country meets in the State.  Last year saw 50 HS teams and 20 MS team's race on the wide open and gently rolling Nash Farm course and this year the meet will see similar numbers. MileSplit GA will be covering the meet as usual with Ben Ennis and Daniel McCauley.

Both Varsity races look to be hotly contested up front. In the Boys' race, East Coweta phenom Kyle Harkabus will have to contend with Trinity Christian's Jacob McLeod and Marist's talented duo of Leif Anderson and William O'Rielly for first.  The Girls' Varsity race looks just as exciting with returning 5A state champion Erin Leonard of Jones County going head to head with Sophia West of Paideia, Josie Wirtz of Marist, Erin Fegans from Landmark and Mckenzie Cromer of Union Grove in what should be a fast pack up front.

Marist looks to be the favorite on paper in both the Boys' and Girls' Varsity team races. However, perennial top 10 programs in their respective classifications such as West Forsyth, St. Pius, Union Grove, Whitewater, and Eagles Landing, and Landmark Christian will look to challenge.
