After a one-year hiatus, the Stage Races are back for 2017, and they're back at River Green complex in Duluth for the first time since 2014. The Stage races were very competitive Saturday as many power programs went head to head including: St. Pius X, The Ridge, Brookwood, Parkview, Mill Creek, and North Gwinnett.
Teamwise, Parkview's Boys took a narrow victory over St. Pius X and Mill Creek. In the Varsity Girls standings, North Gwinnett showed alot of promise taking the win over Lovett and Brookwood.
The Varsity Boys Individual race was won by Calan Gizelbach from Forsyth Central clocking a 10:03 in Stage 5.
Placing 2nd in the Boys race was Christian Corsello from Parkview clocking a 13:13
The Varsity Girls race was won by Skylar English from Dacula, in a nice time of 11:58.
Taking runnerup honors from Brookwood was Reese Saddler in 12:18.

We want to thank all the teams for coming back to the River Green complex
for the 2017 Stage Races! The course was in great condition and there was
some strong competition there. Perennial powerhouses of Brookwood, Mill
Creek and St. Pius along with Parkview, Pope, Archer and North Gwinnett
(among others) made for a great day of racing.
We were able to keep the stages (11 in total: 5 JV, 5 Varsity and 1 Middle
School) starting on time, which spectators and athletes appreciated.
Congratulations to our team champions Parkview (boys) and North Gwinnett
(girls), and to the individual champions Calan Gizelbach (Forsyth Central)
and Skylar English (Dacula)!
