The Archer Invitational is bigger and better than ever this year as the state's best come to Lawrenceville!

"Coach Shells and I started this process way back in September. Our goal was to establish the Archer Invitational as the premier season-opening meet in the state and I think we have done just that. This meet has grown larger and larger each year which is a credit to Coach McCartney and direction of this program. This year we wanted to attract top programs and elite performers from across the state while also allowing any Gwinnett County School the opportunity to compete as well. The interest and support we immediately received for this was through the roof. It has almost become a sudo-Preseason Meet of Champions as 7 of the Top 10 teams from the 6A Boys state meet last year will be in attendance and all of the Top 5. 5A State Champion Southwest Dekalb will also be there. On the Girls side, 6 of the Top 10 teams from the 6A Championships will be there and 5 of the top 6. The Girls field also features 5A Champion North Springs and 3A Champion Greater Atlanta Christian. It truly is  an impressive list."


The sprinting events should be outstanding all afternoon with McEachern, Wstlake, Archer, Newton, Tucker, Southwest Dekalb, Campbell, Baldwin, South Gwinnett, Buford and North Springs all expecting to have National caliber relays and individual performers within the sprints and hurdles group. The distance action should also be very exciting this year led by Brookwood, Collins Hill, Lambert, Archer, Peachtree Ridge and Northview. And field events will be kicked off bright and early (9:00) with Archer's (SR.) Sam Wright in the Shot Put. (64-2.5) Expect some fantastic marks in both the Long and Triple Jumps and a stacked pole vault competition as well.

I think it makes quite a statement when you sit back and look at the list of entries, that if you build it...they will come!"

Running Events
All running events will be girls followed by boys- fastest runners will be in first heats. We are going to stick to this schedule as best we can but if we do get behind we will roll the schedule. However the events WILL NOT start prior to the listed times
