The Broncos' debut at Memphis Twilight was impressive as they put their top 3 all under 16:10 not including Gruem Tesfamariam who has yet to make his anticipated return.
2
Lambert has opened the season strong with a runner-up finish at ATL Classic followed by a dominating win at Berry where they placed 4 in the top 17. Lambert will return to action at Covered Bridge to see if they can impress enough to overtake Brookwood for the top spot.
3
Led by stud Sam Bowers, Milton has a powerful top 2. Their 3-5 will need to work on the gap in order to contend with the Broncos and the Longhorns, but Milton rounds out a strong top 3 that (at this point) appears to be fighting for the top spot and an eventual state championship.
4
Well, I kind of predicted this would happen (see 7A pre-season rankings). South Forsyth has begun their season strong with a win at Pickens and a runner up at Blastow. Matt Patterson has separated as their top guy.
5
Marietta has only raced once this season and were short Hayden Tullos. Even so, they won their opener and appear to be fixing the 'depth' issues brought up at the beginning of the season. Watch out for them once Tullos debuts (Cobb County Championships according to rumors).
6
"MC BABY!" steps up with two aspiring front runners in Delaney Moore and Stephen Velasquez who were both top 20 at Berry. The beholders of the gnome are 1 or 2 guys away from podium contention.
7
Woodstock seemed more impressive at the Panther Invite than they were at Battle of the Fairways as they finished runner up this past Saturday. Austin Bailey has gapped his teammates as the clear #1.
8
The Panthers opened their season as runners-up at Spikes and Spurs and followed it up with a 5th place finish at Berry without 2 of their top 5. Christian Corsello and David Michael lead this team.
9
Walton performed well at Bale N Trail in spite being short a Ben Dahlgren who is critical to this team's success. We'll see how they can stack up with the likes of Marietta at their county championship where they'll hopefully be at full strength.
10
Kind of off the radar until now, Kennesaw Mountain finished 6th at Berry. Will Bullock paces this team, and it'll be interesting to see if they can move up this list.
