Sam Shaylor Sacks the Field Winning the A Private 3200

A Private- This was Sam Shaylor's best event and he wasn't going to let it get away. Sam took the lead from the gun and after 1 lap the field began to get strung out. Max Heaberlin of Paideia was the sole runner to stay in contact after lap 2 as the duo gapped the chasers by over 30m beginning lap 3. The pace remained consistent until lap 5 when Shaylor picked it up a bit...he continued to quicken the pace on lap 6 extending the lead as Heaberlin began to slowly fade. Shaylor began lapping slower runners on lap 7 and put it in crusie control the final 800m, earning a Gold posting a 9:39.34. Heaberlin continued to grind it out placing 2nd at 10:05.21, with Seth Cruver of Landmark passing Alex Branch of Athens Academy in the final 10m earning Bronze at 10:18.91.
