Carson Dingler, a junior at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, broke the meet record in the girls pole vault on Saturday at the Taco Bell Classic as she successfully cleared a personal best height of 13'8". The clearance moves her up to a US #2 ranking in the event. Dingler had several good attempts at her next height despite being unable to clear to give plenty of hope that a 14 foot clearance could be in the cards for her as well this season.
Dingler also improves up her own Georgia state record in the event, which she previously held at her former PR of 13'4.25". The state is fortunate right now to have its first two girls over 13 feet ever in state history competing at the same time as Weber School junior Becky Arbiv has also gone 13'4" this season and the two vaulters have another year to set the bar even higher for future vaulters in the state.
