Marist at Coach Benson Double Dip back in September.
The AAAA Boys race is one of the 'Feature' meets Saturday as this Class has been on fire since the re-classification a year back by the GHSA. Ga.MileSplit will be shooting race footage! Pittman vs Moore for the Overall possibly.
Boys Team-
Frank Pittman of Marist
Marist is poised to stop St.Pius X's string of 5 consecutive titles (though 4 came in AAA) The worm turned for the War Eagles after great off-season work in the Summer and when they shattered many school records in a time trial before their first meet.
The AAAA Boys race will be incredibly competitve, especially for the 2-4 Podium Spots. St. Pius will have another crack at Marist, North Oconee, Whitewater and North Hall are a dead toss up after Region Madness Week. 2 really good squads missed the dance out of 8-AAAA including White County & Buford. Opening up more positions from 6-10 for many teams. Johnson HS bested North Hall at County and could threaten for a Podium spot. Heritage Catoosa runs many hilly courses and could thrive at State. Chestatee, Eagle's Landing and Grady all have solid squads.
Boys Individual-
Thomas Moore from North Oconee HS.
Frank Pittman of Marist has arguably been the top Harrier All-Classes this Fall with a pr coming at FSU on 'Great American Rainout Saurday) of 15:36. Thomas Moore from North Oconee HS (15:38 pr) has been stellar winning many Invitationals and may be chomping at the bit' to get a crack at Pittman on 11-7. Sean Parker from Pickens County easily won Region 7 and with a pr of 15:54 has to be at least in the lead chase pack.
Gerardo Suarez of Johnson-Gainesville
A very tight chase pack indeed! Most of these guys have pr's within a few seconds of each other. Corson Teasley from North Hall ran great at the Unicoi State Park course at 15:55 along with training mate Tommy Johnston at 16:01. Gerardo Suarez of Johnson has been en fuego during October winning a couple of ROW honors sporting a pr of 15:58 at Unicoi. Ryan Gebelein from Heritage is a darkhorse having a sweet race at Coach Wood (16:07) Also be on the lookout for Thomas Adkins of Whitewater (Region 5 Champ), Devin Dixon of Eagle's Landing (Region 4 Champ) and 'wild card' flatlander Pocherella Leonard from Bainbridge (15:56 at Westover) If one looks at the Region 25 Fastest below, you can see that Marist held back a bit. So do not discount Jimmy Brewster or Knox Pittman on 11-7..
Sean Parker of Pickens County
