Some outstanding racing today at Athens Christian School as both HS course records were shattered and the team races were sizzling, especially on the Boys side of things.

HS Girls- 1A Private top girls...you have been put on notice as Anna Marian Block (above) destroyed the ACS course record by 40 seconds going 17:50. If you think that is not impressive..click on this link for the top performances on this course since 2005 LINK and you will see all the great runners she surpassed...North Oconee as expected easily won the team title with their astounding depth placing 5 gals in the top 11 spots. Leading the Lady Titans were Mackenzie Morse 3rd (20:30) and Gabby Huff-Streiter 4th (20:35) Athens Academy took 2nd as a team 12 points behind North OC. Tanner Guest from host ACS had her best race of the year seizing 2nd Overall at 20:23. Abigail Snyder of Westminster Christian ran unattached placing 5th in 20:43.

HS Boys- This race was pure electric blue as Oconee seemed to be on a mission to beat rival North Oconee. But, the top 10 All-Class ranked Titans held on to triumph by 2 points. Thomas Moore of North, broke the course record today posting a 16:05 leading the Titans to the team title. Harper Sigler looked like he has regained his form from 2014 Track season taking 4th in 16:44. Oconee ran out of their everloving minds, placing 4 in the top 9 spots led by Michael Hans' 3rd place finish in 16:37. Issac Krumm was solid again going sub 17: at 16:51. Jeryck Wilson from Cedar Shoals was outstanding taking runnerup Overall in 16:23.
MS Boys- Although MS State was ran Saturday, Champion, Burney Harris Lyons wasn't finished for the season, sweeping the top 3 places winning the title scoring 28 points led by Ketorian Cooper's speedy 1st place effort in 10:33, Justin Hodges 2nd at 11:05 with Angel Rosa 3rd in 11:07. Elijah Cummings led ACS to 2nd as a team placing 4th overall at 11:08 with team mate Jackson McRudden on his shoulder for 5th 11:08. Athens Academy took 3rd place as a team.
MS Girls- Athens Academy may have to rethink not attending MS State next season, as they dominated the MS Girls race scoring 16 points. The Lady Sparties swept the top 4 places led by Eleanor Connolly in 1st (13:28), Celeste Covington 2nd (13:41), Kate Branch 3rd (13:42) and Kate Kleiber 4th (13:42) Clarke MS' Anna Gay led her squad to 2nd teamwise placing 5th overall at 13:53.
JV Mixed- The JV ran a Co-ed race and the winner of the Boys race was Garrison Taylor from Oconee County and Frosh Payton Coates of North Oconee won the girls race in a nice time of 23:03. No official team scoring was kept, but Oconee's JVs dominated the Boys race while North Oconee 'perfect scored' on the Girls side.
