Hebron Christian's top ranked 1A Private Squad won the Small School race at Jesse Owens
Hebron Christian traveled Saturday to the largest meet in the Southeast this year and took home the 1st place trophy in the Girls A-AAA Division race. In knocking off the defending Alabama State Champions by 16 points, the Lady Lions were led by Sr. Maddy Howe's 5th place finish in 19:48. The Lady Lions also had Jr.Alyssa Hawkins' 19:58 effort for 7th place and Jr.Miranda Taylor's 8th place finish in 20:00. Rounding out the Lady Lions scorers was the 16th place of Soph.Amanda Jackson and 20th place of Jr. Mikayla Burrell.

The 2nd winning Trophy of the day for Hebron was earned by the Overall Winner of the Boys' Race, Sr. Mark Stein. Stein's 16:31 winning time was made possible by his thrilling pass of 4 runners in the last 600m of the race. The Lions Boys team claimed a strong 4th place out of the 33 A-AA-AAA teams competing. The Lions other scorers were Jr. Wesley Warbington's 26th place finish in 17:37, Jr. Ben Glover's 30th place in 17:45, Sr. Peter Marty's 36th place in 17:58, and finally Freshman Michael Fabiano's 46th place finish for a Hebron Freshman record of 18:09.
