Boys Team Spotlight:
For the first time all season, the Forsyth Central High School boys will race all of their varsity runners all out. Coach Shannon Hays expects to do well. "We know there is a stacked field at Wingfoot but hope to be competitive this year," she said.
The Forsyth Central boys have been focusing on higher mileage this summer and building a strong base in hopes of sustaining their early season momentum through November. "The power in this Forsyth Central team is in the Central Pack," said Coach Hays. "Will Hasse has established himself as a national elite and an early season front runner. Wesley Bacastow has showed drastic improvement each race. Max Warner is a former 3200 state runner-up. Cole and Calan Gizelbach are having an outstanding season. Charlie Webb if healthy after an early ankle sprain could be the dark horse who surprises everyone."
Boys Team Race:
This weekend we expect Milton, Forsyth Central, Marist, Blessed Trinity, and Clarkston as our top teams. Milton is the heavy favorite, showing strong depth 1-7 as the All-Class #3 ranked team in Georgia this year and coming fresh off a win at the Fulton County Championships. We may see 3-4 Eagles in the top 12. A strong contender to dethrone Milton is the Marist squad. They have proven to be a strong team this year, ranked #5 All-Class with a win at Double Dip and runner up finish at Battle of Atlanta. The Forsyth Central and Blessed Trinity teams look to get in on the action and fight for a podium spot as well. Both Peachtree Ridge and Mill Creek will be resting their varsity and opting to run their next JV runners this meet.

Boys Individual Race:
For the first time this season we will see Jack Bluth, Frank Pittman, and Chase and Chandler Kennedy in the same race. These four boast the top 4 times in the state this season. This race should show us who really is at the top of their game. Jack Bluth is fresh off a course record win at arguably the hardest course in the state, Fulton County. Frank Pittman took wins in Battle of Atlanta and Double Dip this year. Looking to challenge and break into the top 5 are Colton Page (Berry Clara Bowl Champion), Jimmy Brewster of Marist (2nd at Warpath), Sam Shaylor of North Cobb Christian and Sam Bowers of Milton.
The course is set and the competition is heating up. There are many others who are hungry to earn some hardware at the Wingfoot XC Classic.
