Region 1-AAA Meet Summary

Junior Quinn Pitts of Southeast Bulloch placed 1st overall for the 2nd year in a row with a time of 16:51.74  After Pitts it was almost all Savannah Arts Academy as their boys finished 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9. They are known as the Panthers, but should be called the 'wolves' as they ran in one pack together.  Southeast Bulloch Boys team was region runner up, who after Pitts saw strong performances by senior Austin Weinkauf and sophomore Zach Clifton.

 

Quinn Pitts' sister freshman phenom Hattie Pitts placed 1st overall for the girls with a new P.R. for her in a time of 20:34.83. Savannah Arts girls also placed 1st as a team , while Pierce County took 2nd for the ladies, Tattnall County took 3rd and rounding out the top 4 and qualifying for state was Southeast Bulloch. Laurise Williams of Savannah High was a surprise 3rd place finisher for the ladies, qualifying to go to state as an individual. Christel-Ann Ramus of Islands High finished in 5th place also qualifying her for state as an individual leaving behind her team mates who finished in a disappointing 5th place.
