Westlake Girls, Unfazed by DQ in 4x400 Prelims, Repeat as Champs

Speedy McEachern struck first besting Westlake in the 4x100m relay by .06 posting a slick 46.06 to start their journey up the team scoreboard. Archer was in hot pursuit a stride back at 46.84.
The 400m race was incredible as 3 athletes went sub :56 including McEachern as MaKenzie Dunmore poured it down the homestretch in 54.21. Aliyah Abrams of Grayson was 2nd in 54.47, and Archer's Serenity Douglas went 54.61 McEachern added 14 points total with Cierra Dunston coming in 5th. Westlake managed to add 7 points with 5th/6th place efforts by Ariel Terrell and Jenee Nichols. 
Candace Hill took the spotlite in the 100 meters with a blazing 11.44 charging the crowd up. Kevia Gonzalez of Westlake really came up big seizing 2nd place in 11.90.
Shanel Burr from North Cobb had a clean race taking the Gold in the 100h with a sweet 13.99. Natisha Dixon of Wheeler took 2nd in 14.02 and Tatiyana Rayford of Marietta placed 3rd in 14.29 sparking an oncoming Demon attack. 
Marietta cleaned up in the 800m race as Mary Jeanne Assinzo ran her usual race, hanging back till last 140 meters then blowing away everyone down the homestretch seizing Gold in 2:13.44, teamate Nyasia Mercado placed 4th in 2:16.51 as the the Demons began adding points in chunks. Tatyana Hodnett of Tri-Cities ran a bold race hanging on for 2nd in 2:14.77 with West Forsyth's Haley Anderson 3rd in 2:15. Westlake again added points behind Anriel Howard's 5th place effort. 
With 3 events left, the team title was very much up for grabs..but Candace Hill of Rockdale County again diverted the attention of anyone with a heartbeat with her special 23.21 But, there was a team battle going on and McEachern's Dunmore raced to 2nd in 23.99 while Westlake's Jenee Nichols took 3rd at 24.43  
Wheeler's Natisha Dixon excelled in her primary event getting some payback taking the 300h Gold in 42.68  Alexis Jones of Campbell took 2nd in 43.08, but once again Westlake came through as Kayla Stinson's 3rd place effort in 43.30 basically clinched the 6A title for the Lions.
McEachern, Archer and Grayson closed out the meet as all 3 teams finished within a couple of strides of each other ath the finish with the Indians pulling it out setting a new 6A meet record in 3:44.59
