'GHSA AA Boys State Preview'
A few weeks back some would think Westminster was a lock to add another 1st place Cup in their huge trophy case. Wesleyan has picked it some at season's end, and ran well at 6-AA. The race for the boys individual title could come down to the final hill. Throughout the season, Jordan Flowers of Westminster has proven to be the favorite for the AA Boys overall title.
Team Race
A few weeks back, some would think Westminster was a lock to add another 1st place Cup in their huge trophy case. Wesleyan has picked it some at season's end and ran well at 6-AA, but the Cats' depth was too much packing it in from 1-5 with a :21 Split. This spells doom for the field and Westminster's 6,7 runners aren't too shabby either. Wesleyan has a lock on 2nd, unless they have a poor race and Bleckley runs lights out. Lovett (based on their 6-AA race) could be in danger of not making the Podium for the first time in many years if Jefferson, Murray County (who's hard to gague) Thomasville and perhaps an insprired Riverside Military squad have good races. Look for alot of 'green, white and green' uniforms crossing the finish line in the top 15 spots.

Individual Race
The race for the boys individual title could come down to the final hill. Throughout the season, Jordan Flowers of Westminster has proven to be the favorite for the AA Boys overall title, until region, when Matt Moratti of Wesleyan decided to challenge and took the win on Wesleyan's tough home course in 17:38. Moratti turned in a 17:47 at Last Chance to Flowers 17:30 in different races. Eddie Stafford of Spencer HS in Columbus has a pr of 16:22 from Asics Alexander and has raced several times and won on the hard/long Columbus course. Guthrie Edwards from Pelham has ran well this season winning the 1-AA title in 17:17 at Kolomoki Mounds. Sam Geha of Benedictine has ran some fast times in the Savannah area. Miller Kettle from Greater Atlanta Christian is battle tested, having raced at some tough courses including a 17:47 from Last Chance. Charlie McKnight, Austin Dhillon and Graham Huff of Westminster should be close to the leaders pack, and Marcus Gouthro from RMA is a darkhorse pick to challenge up front after an impressive race on his home turf seizing the 8-AA title.
