Last Chance ReCap JV Championship Races
These 2 races actually may significance to some programs as top JVs may be solidifying their status as 5-10 runners for Region and as alternates for State in 2 weeks in case of injury/sickness. In what is becoming questionable...Two 8th graders were the champs of these races.
Boys
Jallah Galimah, an 8th grader representing Heritage, won the JV Boys individual title in a quite impressive time of 17:34. Frosh Hayden Tullos of 6A power Marietta was the top JV HS athlete placing 2nd in 17:37 It was an exciting race for the JV team title and 6A Etowah came out the victor over Marietta by 3 points. Leading Etowah was Marc Reiser in 4th overall in 18:33. Marietta's David Savic crossed the mats in 3rd also in 18:33
Girls
Next season, Landmark's HS girls team may be untouchable. 3 8th graders from Landmark took the top 4 places led by Sarah Foreman in 21:22, Mary Kellison Thorne (21:47) and Lindsay Biggar (22:32) Freshman Macki Walsh from Etowah placed 3rd in 22:23. Westminster walloped the field warming up for region scoring 43 points with Marietta 2nd. Top runner for the Cats' was junior Mary Boyd Croiser in 22:34
