Girls Fleet Frosh Report
There's a very strong group of freshman girls this season with about 6-8 that are consistently winning invitationals and/or in the lead packs in most every race. Many top 9th grade girls in recent history have struggled their sophomore season as they mature. Attached is a link to a spreadsheet that I used to evaluate performance in the major invitationals with the exception of a couple of meets athletes pr'd in. 6athletes you've heard of almost weekly in meet summaries as they've all won or contended, been ROW's. Nicole Fegans of Landmark Christian- Has quickly developed under the guidance of legendary Coach Bill Thorne often finishing just behind teamate Katherine Foreman. Top freshman pr and best time at Carrollton by quite a margin.
Micah Weathers of Winder-Barrow- Got to watch her run this Summer and she looked immediately to be very talented. She has a pr of 19:13, won the Winder-Barrow Invite at 19:21, with top 3 finishes at NEGA and NGTC.
Audrey Honiotes of Hart County- Dominated MS Cross Country in NE Ga in 2012 and has taken well to the 5K. I believe winning almost every race she's been in. Easily won her most recent race at Mainstreet News in Jefferson. No patsy courses..
Millicent Bergey of South Forsyth- Bergey has been a fast bloomer at South Forsyth, and it doesn't hurt to be training with Savannah Carnahan. She doesn't have a win yet, but its coming. Best race wasa 3rd a Lambert in 19:48
Alyssa Hooker of Lakeside Evans- Hooker is just another in a fine line of female runners from Lakeside-Evans that also produced the Bowles sisters. Her top race may have been a 5th at Battle of Atlanta.
Anna Renou of Marist- This seems to be Renou's initial season of Cross Country and if her performance is any indicator she may be tagging along side teamate Morgan Ilse soon. Has a pr of 19:12 and already been named an ROW for 4A.
