Middle School Runners of the Week will be chosen weekly for the remainder of the season culminating in announcing MS ROYs after the Georgia Middle School State Championships on October 19 in Cochran at Bleckley County Elementary. This week both runners came from the Battle of Atlanta with George Finch and Sophie West taking the Honors!

George Finch has been chosen as the MS Boys Runner of the Week for Georgia after his impressive win at The Battle of Atlanta clocking a 10:03 George attends Carver MS in Monroe and also runs for the Gratis Distance Project. He currently holds Carver MS records in the 2 Mile, 3200 Meter and 3000 Meter Distances. Finch should be a top contender at the Georgia MS State Championships at Bleckley Elementary on 10-19.

Sophie West from Paideia has been chosen as the MS Girls Runner of the Week as she captured the MS Girls overall posting a 11:17 for the win. West holds school records for Paideia in 5 distances: 2500m, 3000m, 3200m, 2 Mile and 4000m. Sophia is coached by Dan McCauley.
