-The races will be held on the campus of Apalachee High School in Winder, GA. Team packets can be found at the practice field under the field goal. The course map will be included in the packet although it is recommended to look at the course map before race day. The course is two loops with one big loop and one small loop with the one-mile marker in the softball field parking lot closest to Haymon Morris Rd. (during the big loop). The two-mile marker is behind the visitor bleachers of the stadium (beginning of the small loop). The finish will begin after the small loop. See course map.
-The course has been changed since 2014. It is all grass and dirt with about 75 meters of gravel with a 350M stadium finish.
-Runners should have no problems using spikes.
-The course includes roughly 1.5 miles of trails through the woods. Teams are recommended to get to the school early enough to allow runners to preview the course. The course is available to preview Friday night prior to the race as well. Contact Coach Holmes for this.
-The start is wide open and takes place on the practice field. Team tents can be set-up on the practice field.
-The runners will finish the last roughly 350 meters on the track.
-This is a challenging course that will prepare all runners for the state meet in Carrollton. With the revision of the course from last years inaugural race, the boys and girls varsity winners will set the new course record.
-This will be a great venue for spectators.
-Parking is $5 per car
-Concessions and T-Shirts will be sold on the practice field
-Team awards will take place on the track following the final JV race. Top 3 teams in each varsity race will receive trophies. Top 15 runners in each varsity race will receive medals. Trophy for the winning team of each JV race. The winner of each JV race will receive a medal.
