Wilmes ran 2:26.15 in 2016 and earned herself a 4th place medal after winning district and sectional titles. 2017 was not as successful, but she still grabbed 6th in the 800. She also has two medals in the 400 (4th and 6th) and boasts a 61.25 personal best in that event. If Wilmes gets back to her sophomore year PR, then she could seriously challenge for the gold in the 800.
