On Saturday, October 7th, Chattahoochee Technical College and Young Harris College traveled to Orlando to participate in the Disney Invitational. In the men's division, CTC's Abraham Kiprotich placed 6th overall with an improved time of 25:42.19 on the sandy curvy and flat 8K course. YHC's Tony Hambre placed 108th overall with an improved time of 28:13.27. Teammate Winston Dangler placed 128th, 29:02.24. CTC's Mohamed Balde placed 131st with an improved time of 29:07.07. YHC's Julio Vazquez placed 154th with an improved time of 29:48.98. This time moves him to the #7 position in the region top 10 this week.

In the team competition, The University of South Florida won the meet with 60 points. Johnson County Community College (one of the top NJCAA schools in the nation) placed 3rd in the meet with 162 points. Chattahoochee Tech placed 23rd (651) and Young Harris placed 25th (663).
In the women's competition, Young Harris's Katie Peterson placed 148th, 21:57.02 on the 5K course. CTC's Amy Davidson improved her time (22:36.08) and placed 180th. YHC's Heather Dunn improved her time (22:43.43) placing 185th. This improvement moves Heather to the #7 position in this week's region top 10.

Georgia Military College also competed in the Georgia State Invitational on Saturday. GMC's Crawford Robertson placed 63rd with a time of 31:17.82 on the 8K course. Teammate Roy Woods placed 71st (32:35.89). Other GMC finishers include: Casey Durham (85th, 33:48.60), Tony Garay (93rd, 35:02.09), Antonio Ross (94th. 35:14.62), Brett Barnes (102nd, 42:19.66).
In the team competition, GSU won the meet with 34 points. GMC placed 12th with 333 points.
In the women's competition, Georgia Military's Sharelle Jackson placed 68th with a time of 24:24.87 on the 5K course. Teammates Andrea Herman and Deona Ballard placed 79th (25:40.56) and 82nd (25:57.49).
In the team competition, Berry College won with 27 points. Georgia Military did not have a team score.
