Very little movement in the Final Class Ranking of the Fall except for Roswell shooting up to 7th after a great race at 5-AAAAAA. Marietta looks unbeatable on 11-7. The 2-4 Podium spots will be wildly contested on what's forecasted to be a beat up, sloppy course in the afternoon.

Brookwood swept the 8-AAAAAA team titles at the Georgia International Horse Park Saturday afternoon.
Only 1125 runners participated at the annual Last Chance meet at the 'State Course' Saturday. Very few ranked larger school teams ran their varsities or came at all, with those in attendance taking advantage all around, giving their JVs a chance to test out the layout. In 2 weeks though, this venue will be electric..can you feel it?
Weather looked to be an issue coming into this meet late Friday, but, after the course got a good soakin' overnight, it seemed to drain quite well by the early 'dark' start of the Championship Boys race. A thick blanket of mist enveloped the fields at first, but, as the morning progressed, it steadily rose up to reveal the beautiful, flat course ahead.
Here's a large Aubrae Gunderson photo gallery from the eye of David Heaberlin as teams slogged it on the 'F' course in a downpour.

Akua Obeng-Akrofi (Archer HS, Lawrenceville, GA) signed to her National Letter of Intent to run for Ivy League Columbia University (NY) Tuesday at Archer High School.
The weather was pleasant (finally) for Sectionals this past Saturday. 6A 'B' was held in Tifton Ga, and 6A 'A' was at McEachern and the racing was hot and heavy for both. Surprising the only chatter on the Discussion Board has been very low key. 103 National Elites were achieved in 'A' and currently we have no data for 'B' as of presstime.
McEachern's Girls are the top ranked team in the All Georgia Girls Power Rankings with Westlake, Archer, Marist and Miller Grove on the outside looking in...
6A Girls had quite a week themselves with 2 athletes being selected as the co- 6A Girls 'Athletes of the Week. Candace Hill (super frosh) from Rockdale County and Akua Obeng-Akrofi of Archer HS. These 2 are heading into an ultimate showdown down in Albany in the 100 and 200 meter dashes barring injury.
In the infamous words of Oscar Winner Matthew McConaughay, "Alright, Alright, Alright.." McEachern is a little heavy on points in the Individual Sprints (around 20-25) keeping Westlake actually at the top of the 6A Girls Team Power Rankings. Your gonna have to be in Albany the 2nd week of May to see how this ultimately shakes out. Archer is in 3rd place thanks to their Throws and Relays with Grayson, Campbell, Marietta, Parkview and Etowah bunched together all in contention for GHSA Team Awards down in Albany. These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We scored 12 deep for individuals and 12 deep for relays. For example, for individuals 1st place received 12 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 12th place.
Outstanding performances were all over the board for the 6A Girls last week with many MileSplit National Silver standards achieved. However MaKenzie Dunmore's double at the McEachern Quad sttod out as she's now atop the rankings in the 200 meters and 2nd in the 100 meters for 6A as she once again claims the overall 'AOW' honors.
Parkview's new 250K Recortan track was flat out torched today as existing meet records were shattered in the very unseasonably mild weather (but don't hold your breathe as next weekend looks to be much colder again) Parkview once again demonstrated how to run a high volume meet clicking off heat after heat in timely fashion on a 6-lane track.
