WE HAVE MADE CHANGES TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL RACES

Thank you for choosing Dominion Dash! I am overwhelmed at how popular our race has become.  Our campus is small and parking is limited so we have had to make some adjustments to race day.  Please communicate the below information clearly to your runners and parents.

PARKING

Parking is very limited.  Carpooling is highly recommended.  Teams advised to travel in van/bus to also reduce parking issues. 

There is off-site parking available at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church (5145 Due West Road, Powder Springs GA).  It is a mile walk on a sidewalk from the church to the school (this could be a great warmup).

Gate fee (cash only) is $5/adult and $3/student.  No charge for registered runners or coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL Schedule:

8:15am - Course opens for walk-through

9:00am - Varsity Girls 5k

9:45am - Varsity Boys 5k

  • We will hand out medals to the top three HS finishers as they cross the finish line.
  • We will announce the top two teams as soon as the timer gives us the results, but will not do a formal award ceremony.

Once the high school races are over, if you do not have a middle school team that is joining your high school team, we respectfully ask that you clean up your area and leave the Dominion campus.  This way we will be able to make room both in the tent area and in the parking lot for the next wave of teams that are arriving.

MIDDLE SCHOOL - CHANGE OF RACE DAY SCHEDULE

According to MileSplit we have almost 300 runners in each of the MS races!  While this is going to give you a great race field, it has required us to push back your race start times in order to make room on the field for your tents and for parking.

PLEASE DELAY YOUR ARRIVAL ON THE DOMINION CAMPUS FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL RACE UNTIL 10:15AM.

MIDDLE SCHOOL Schedule: 

11:30am - MS Girls 2 miler

12:00pm - MS Boys 2 miler

  • We will hand out medals to the top three MS finishers as they cross the finish line.

TEAM TENTS (see attached)

We have assigned you locations for your tents.  Some of the MS teams do not have an assigned space, but when you arrive, please take any available spot.  Each spot is marked with wooden stake and a number.  Our football field is on a flood plane so some areas are still quite soggy from all the race thus reducing our available tent real estate area.

BIB & CHIP INFORMATION

Your bib and chip for each runner is your responsibility.  Please return your unused chips in the folder provided to you at the registration table and return to the timer.  Any missing chips will result in a $20 charge to your school.  If any runner is missing a bib/chip please notify the timing tent immediately.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Top 3 finisher for each race will receive a medal.
  • 1st and 2nd place teams will be given trophies based off their TOP 5 runners.

  • After the races, please help clean up the tent area where your team's tent was.

  • We will have a trainer on site if you have a runner that needs medical attention.

  • A map of the course is included.  Please follow the arrows/flags along the course.  Roots and rocks have been sprayed for your awareness. 

  • Some parts of the trail will be very muddy - proceed with caution.

  • Mosquitoes on the trail are quite aggressive ... but I hear they can't keep up with XC runners ... so run fast!

  • Concessions will be available (cash only).

Roster submission, team information, and additional meet info will be provided through milesplit.com closer to race date.

The registration deadline is Friday, August 27th

Registration fee of $35 per gender team should be mailed to the school by Friday, September 3rd

GATE:

We will be charging gate admission for spectators - $5 for adults/$3 for children. Please let your parents know. There is no charge for athletes and coaches.

DIRECTIONS:

From I-75 take Exit 269 - Barrett Parkway/Kennesaw.

Travel west for 4.5 miles to Burnt Hickory Road. Turn right onto Burnt Hickory Road. Travel 2.8 miles to the traffic light. Turn right onto Due West Road. Travel .3 miles going through the traffic light to the first street past Due West Elementary School. Turn left onto Burnt Hickory Road. Travel 1 mile to the entrance of Dominion Christian
