2020 7A - Region 2 Cross Country Championship

Venue details
The course is a single loop, 5k distance, around the perimeter of Newnan's scenic reservoir lakes. The course is 100% grass and dirt/gravel road, an excellent course for spikes. There are a couple of solid hills but the course will certainly produce some fast times for runners.
The team tent area will be located at the top of the dam behind the first lake. Spectators should not enter the team tent area.
There is no water available at the course... runners and teams should supply their own water.
Portable Restrooms are located at the entrance to the park, near the parking area.
Please clean up after your team before leaving the meet.

- 2:00pm Team Check-in
- 2:15pm Coaches Meeting
- 3:00pm Girls JV (unlimited)
- 3:45pm Boys JV (unlimited)
- 4:30pm Girls Varsity (Top 7)
- 5:15pm Boys Varsity (Top 7)
The races will be professionally timed. If timing chips are provided, teams are responsible for returning all chips before the end of the meet. $30 per un-returned timing chip.
Awards and Qualifications
Coaches will need to verify their team times after each race. An attendant will be available at the timing tent to assist with verification. Trophies and State qualification will be finalized before the end of the meet. There will not be an awards presentation, but each winning team will receive trophies before they leave. Medals will be passed-out in the finishing chute.
- Top 10 individuals in each race will be awarded medals
- Top two teams in each race will be awarded trophies
- Top 6 individual finishers in the Varsity races will qualify for State
- Top four teams in the Varsity races will qualify for State
Spectators
This is a great spectator course. Although the course is a single loop, spectators will be able to view about 50% of the race from the spectator vantage point. Due to Covid concerns, spectators will be separated from the Team Tent area during the meet. Please ask parents to keep their distance from runners to ensure that the athletes get a chance to compete at the State Championship meet.
There will be a $5 charge per spectator. Please bring exact change. Cars will park in the grassy area beside Sewell Road, near the entrance to the reservoir.

Entry fee will be $150 per high school to cover meet expenses.
