Meet Information
This will be the 1st Annual GOAT XC Challenge at Darlington School. The race will use of the mountain/ridge trails behind Darlington's main campus. The race will start and finish close to the old gym. If your middle school team has participated in the very popular Billy Goat Challenge this is a similar style of race on some of the same trails. The race promises to be one of the most challenging courses in the state. The distance will be as close to 5000 meters as we can make it but will not be close enough to call it a true 5k. Race elevation gain will be significant as well. Sections of the trails will be moderately technical in nature (Technical trail running is characterised by the terrain being quite difficult to traverse. This may include obstacles such as rocks, loose surfaces, roots, mud, water, steep climbs and steep descents.).
