***The games committee has agreed to use video replay for the running events if necessary. The ONLY video equipment that will be used to make decisions related to the finish of the race will be that video equipment provided by Jackson High School.

Entry Notes:  You must list alternates as #5 and #6 on your relay and no one can be listed on both relays per GHSA rules.

Also, GHSA rules only allow athletes to participate in 5 total events including relays.  The individual entry limits can be in any of the following combinations:

2 Track Events and 1 Field Event (All athletes are allowed to participate in 2 relays)

2 Field Events and 1 Track Event (All athletes are allowed to participate in 2 relays)

3 Field Events (All athletes are allowed to participate in 2 relays)

Note: We are required to report the Top 6 finishers to the State, so please break all necessary ties in field events.

Four coaches are needed at every exchange Two will be responsible for lanes 1-4 and Two coaches for lanes 5-8

General Information

  1. Admission is $5.

  2. The Track has eight lanes, is all-weather, and utilizes FAT timing.

  3. Shot Put and Discus areas are concrete.

  4. Starting blocks will be provided, and you may bring your own.

  5. Shots and Discus will be inspected, weighed, and marked.

  6. Each school may enter two athletes in each individual event and two relay teams.

  7. All heats and flights will be set according to times, distances, and heights from entry form. Please be honest.  Teams will be split in the prelims.

  8. All teams are required to remain off the infield during the running events.  If athletes are on the turf without permission they may be disqualified.

  9. We will be scoring 8 places.

  10. Champion and runner up trophies will be presented at conclusion of the meet.  Individual Medals will be presented during the meet.

  11. All GHSA rules and regulations will be followed.

  12. If a field event has 10 or more participants, then the participants will be divided into two groups (Two Flights).  Flight participants will receive 4 attempts. The Top 4 overall marks qualify for State Sectionals. If there are 9 or less participants, then the field event will be one flight with 4 attempts, and the Top 4 marks qualify for State Sectionals.

  13. Spectators will only be allowed on the track during field events.

  14. Results will be posted on the back of the 1st set of bleachers, and there will be live results posted electronically.

  15. The control tent is for timers and pickers only.  No coach should enter unless summoned over the PA system.

  16. Hip numbers are to be placed on the side of the right hip.

  17. Athletes competing in events held at the same time should report to both the Field Judge and the Clerk of the Course.  Running events take precedence over field events and vertical events take precedence over horizontal events.

  18. Jackson High School athletes will be at each field event location.  Please send results to the finish line at the conclusion of the last flight of each session.



Relay Teams

Relay teams including alternates must consist of 6 separate athletes.  No athlete should be on Team A

AND Team B for any given relay.



Bus Parking

Buses should park together in the athletic complex parking lot.



Check-In

  1. Check in will be located under the tent with the Jackson High Logo



Implement Weigh-In

Implements will be weighed in and labeled at the table next to the official timer.



Warm Up Area

The warm up area will be from hash to sideline on the visitors side.  There should be no athlete inside the pennant flags on the home side.



Team Areas

  1. Tents are not allowed in the covered bleachers.

  2. Tents may be set-up around the fence outside the running surface..



Hospitality

  1. Day 1-Breakfast will be available on Day 1 before the start of the Track Meet

  2. Day 1-Lunch will be served from 11:45am-12:45pm.

  3. Day 2-Food will be served from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

  4. Sport Drinks, Sodas, and Water will be available for all coaches and workers each day

1 Heat Race-Any event that has 8 or less participating athletes will be run on the second day as a final.
