Meet Information
Race Times:
4:45 PM - Boys Varsity
5:15 PM - Girls Varsity
5:50 PM - JV Boys and Girls Simultaneously
MeetFees There is no charge for athletes to participate in the 7-AAAA Region Championship race.
There will be a $5 parking fee for all personal vehicles. To expedite the parking process, please bring correct change. All team buses park for free. The parking fee will help offset some of the costs associated with hosting a meet.
Course:
The XC course at Heritage High School is extremely spectator-friendly. Parents and coaches can see their runners at least five times throughout the race, with little to no walking. Mile and meter markers are provided and coaches' timing areas are easily accessible and within walking distance of one another. The well-maintained, two-loop course incorporates mostly natural running surfaces, with two road crossings. A brick starting line, three hills (of varying intensity), two wooded areas, and creek views make for a very dynamic and enjoyable course. A lot of time, effort, and expense went into the design and construction of the course, and we've received nothing but positive feedback.
Awards:
Medals will be awarded to the top-10 athletes in each race.
Trophies will be awarded to the top-4 teams (state qualifiers) in each varsity race. No team awards will be given for the JV races.
Team awards will be held after the JV race is concluded.
Timing:
Chip timing will be provided by Perfect Timing Group.
Chips and race bibs will be distributed on race day. Coaches should pick up race packets at least 30-minutes prior to the first race.
Entry:
The entry deadline is October 24th at 11:59 PM. Online entry will open on this page on October 1st.
Enter names of the all of your runners, both varsity and JV. (Only seven of those who you registered with GHSA will be allowed to run varsity on race day.)
JV Boys and girls will be running simultaneously so that we can finish before total darkness.
IMPORTANT Parking Information:
Heritage High has two entrances. One is located off of Poplar Springs Rd. (across from the middle school) and will be open until 4:00 P.M. Due to safety concerns, the Poplar Springs entrance will then be closed to incoming and outgoing traffic. The other entrance is located off of Post Oak Rd., which intersects Poplar Springs Rd. This entrance will remain open during the entire event. All buses should enter at the Post Oak Rd. entrance, even if arriving early. Parking attendants will guide drivers to the unloading and bus parking area.
Rain Date:
If we are rained out on the 27th, the race will be moved to October 29th.
Concessions will be available.
Region Championship t-shirts will be available for sale.
Restroom Facilities will also be available at the field house and gym entrance (near the football fields).
Team tents should be placed only on the grassy area located in front of the main entrance to the school.
