Meet Information
JEFF DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL
TRACK NOTES
TIME: The track meet will begin promptly at 4:00 pm.
ENTRIES: There will be 2 entries for all events, except 1600/3200 will be unlimited.
FIELD ASSIGNMENTS: In order to run a successful track meet, it is essential to have some help from the visiting coaches. Our objective is to run a good meet and for it to be an efficient meet. If you are uncomfortable running a particular event please let me know and I will switch you with someone.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: I have enclosed a schedule of events. It is necessary to make sure that your track athletes know where to go and what they are running.
SCRATCH MEETING: We will have a scratch meeting at 3:40. If you need to make a change you can do that doing the scratch meeting.
RUNNING EVENTS: Make sure your athletes stay on the track at the end of the race so that we can check their name and get their time.
TIMERS: I will need all coaches from each school to help with timing.
SCORING: We will score only two from each school.
TEAM LOCATION: Please select an area outside of the track along the fence. Athletes are to remain off the infield unless they have check-in and warming up for the next event.
SPECTATORS: Entry price is $3.00 for all spectators. All spectators must remain outside of the fence.
NUMBER OF EVENTS: Athletes can participate in a total of 5 events
o 3 field & 2 Relay
o 2 field / 1 running & 2 Relay
o 1 field / 2 running & 2 Relay
For every event we will have a first and second call for each event. Please make sure your athlete reports to the clerk of course at the table.
