Tiarra Hill signs a track and Field Scholarship with Winthrope University today. Coach Paxton said that "Tiarra is a tremendous talent and can't wait to start working with her this summer". After thinking long and hard with her family and coaches Tiarra decided to choose Winthrope over Gardner Webb, University of the Cumberlands, and Paine College. According to Tiarra " when I took my recruiting visit to Winthrope I knew this was the place and plus I get to run in Atlanta every year when we compete against Georgia Tech". Tiarra is the Hall county Champion in the High Jump and Region Runner-up. She completed her career in Albany last week at the state track meet by clearing 5'4 and finishing fifth overall in the state. Tiarra is pictured with her Father Chris Hill and grandmother Betty. Tiarra would like to send a special thanks to her head coach Wayne Jones and the entire girl's track coaching staff for everything that they have done for her.

Shannen-Rose Forde becomes a "Hawkeye!"

Dominion Christian School's Shannen-Rose Forde Has signed a track & field scholarship with the University of Iowa.  Shannen-Rose is a nine time all-state, and fourteen time all region performer.  Shannen-Rose also holds four GISA state records: 100 hurdles, 100 meter dash, long jump, and the 4x100 meter relay.  She was recently named to the first ever USATF Indoor All-State Track & Field Team.  Shannen-Rose is joined by her parents:  Father Russell Forde, Mother Sonja Sutherland.  Standing from left to right: Headmaster Joe Bradley, Track Coach Javier Jenkins, Athletic Director Mike Gold, Principal Chuck Lawson

Kiki Harris signs a full track and Field athletic & academic scholarship with Paine College today. Kiki has made history for Paine College by signing today. According to Paines's Head coach " this will be the first Pole Vaulter to sign with Paine College", and we are excited to have her. Kiki is pictured with her mother Tonya Harris and Father Stacy Robinson. Kiki would like to send a special thanks to her head coach Wayne Jones and the entire girl's track coaching staff for everything that they have done for her. She is currently ranked in the top 5 in AAA for pole vaulters.

 

Oglethorpe County high jumper and sprinter Maurice Freeman has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Georgia on a track scholarship.  Freeman has a personal best of 6’ 10” in the high jump and has won every competition he has entered this year, including the Coaches Invitational at Georgia Tech, the Capital City Classic in Tallahassee, and the Region 8-AA meet.  He also has personal bests of 22.08 in the 200 meters and 49.27 in the 400 meters and recently claimed the Region 8-AA crown in those events as well.   Photo by Dan Giles

Alayna Famble of Heritage HS and Impact Athletics Track Club signs with Rutgers University!  Pictured in front with Alayna are her brother Dennis Famble, parents Dennis and Joyce Famble, and uncle Adolph Hester.  In back are Impact Athletics President Shawn Hampton, Heritage Assistant Track Coach Patrick Kicklighter, and Impact Coach Christopher Walker.  At Rutgers, she plans to major in Environmental Engineering.  She is excited about running for Coach James Robinson, a Lithonia High graduate.

 

North Atlanta HS senior, Malik Epps, has committed to Harvard (he will run track and field there).  Attached is a picture of Epps.
