Reginald Lewis Earns First Collegiate Honors

Lewis named A-Sun Conference Track Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State Track and Field Student Athlete Reginald Lewis was announced as the Atlantic Sun Track and Field Player of the Week by the Conference on Wednesday for his performance at the SIU Fast Start this past weekend.

Lewis, a freshman from Westover Comprehensive High School in Albany, Ga., led the Owls in the running events, as he finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.86 seconds, breaking the school record as well as placing third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.48 to set his second KSU program record. Lewis also missed breaking the long jump record by five centimeters as he placed fifth with a distance of 6.95m.  

The future looks bright for the young track star as he ran personal best of 10.67 in the 100 meter dash at the Georgia Olympics, placing first as well as run a time of 21.97 in the 200m at the Georgia Olympics.

This marks the first Track and Field Player of the Week Lewis has won. The team has the remainder of December off before returning in January to compete at the Crossplex hosted by the University of Alabama Birmingham Jan. 12-13.
