Athletes to Keep an Eye On at Girls State

Kendell Williams of Kell HS   Kendell is one of the top Junior athletes(18 & under) in the World currently. She as prs of 100 Meter Hurdles 13.45; 100 Meter Dash 12.47, 300 Meter Hurdles 41.30, 400 Meter Hurdles 58.63, 800 Meter Run 2:22.38, High Jump 5-10, Long Jump 19-8.5  She will only be competing however in both Hurdles, the HJ and the 4x100 Relay so DO NOT miss watching her.

Grace Tinkey of First Presbyterian Day-- Grace has been dominant in XC and the 3200 meters (11:00 pr). Now that she is competing in her 1st GHSA Track Championship her footspeed will be tested in the 1600 race.  

Anna Bowles of Lakeside-Evans-  Anna is gunning to end her HS career with titles in the 1600 (4:59.61pr) and 3200 meter races (10:42.93).

Ciara Simms of Dutchtown HS  Ciarra has really improved from 2010 and is THE dominant Sprinter all-Classes. She has prs of 11.70 and 24.20 in the 100-200m Sprints.

Erica Rucker of Flowery Branch HS - Its a rare combination that an athlete excels in both the grueling lactic acid producing 400 and 800 meter races. Erica has prs of 54.20 and 2:14.86 in each!

Torie Owers of Athens Academy   Much like her male counterpart Ben Glauser of Athens Academy, Torie has exploded in her events from 2010 having Nationally ranked marks in the Shot (47-0.50) and Discus (147-7)

Quintunya Chapman of Bradwell Institute - UGA bound, Quintunya is multi-talented and a threat to win the 5A 400 (56.11) and the Long Jump (19-1.25)

Caroline Bond  of Greater ATL Christian - Caroline became the All-Time greatest female Vaulter in history with a clearance of 12-5.75 at the Region 6-AA meet.

Anasterasia Terrell  of Howard HS - Another multi-event talented athlete, Anasterasia will be looking to improve on her 2010 State efforts as she has prs of 18-8 in the LJ, 39-10 in the TJ and 14.46 in the 100 Hurdles.

Destiny Jenkins of Athens Christian - Destiny will be the spark that gets ACS on the leaderboard having prs of 2:18.02 in the 800 and 5:09.12 in the 1600. The 1A 1600 will be very interesting for sure.
