Highlights

  • 'A' Classification
    • Sub-1:50 for an 800 is an impressive feat, even more so when two break it in the same race.  O'Neal Wanliss, Holy Innocents GA, won the 800 meter run with a US#1 clocking of 1:49.62 with Cameron Thornton, Whitfield Academy GA, right on his heels with a US#2 time of 1:49.63.  Wanliss also won the 400 dash in 47.77 while Thornton took the 1600 in 4:18.91.
    • Torian Ware, Taliaferro County GA, won the high jump with a leap of 7-00 to best Edricus Williams, Warren County GA, who cleared 6-10.
  • 'AAA' Classification
    • Cody Barger, North Hall GA, completed the 1600/3200 double with winning times of 4:15.75 and 9:07.12.
    • Tamaric Johnson, Stone Mountain GA, won the 200 dash in 21.67 and the 400 dash in 47.92.  
  • 'AAAA' Classification
    • Dequadis Tucker, Carver GA, won the 100 dash in 10.60 and the 200 dash in a time of 21.35.
    • Morrow GA rolled in the 4x400 relay with a winning time of 3:16.96 to beat Tucker GA, runner-up in a time of 3:17.76.
  • 'AAAAA' Classification
    • South Gwinnett GA won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:16.82.
    • Malcolm Davis, Norcross GA, won the high jump with a clearance of 6-10.
    • Alexander Reese, Lassiter GA, ran a swift 21.20 to win the 200 dash and 48.16 to also win the 400 dash.

 

 

North State 5A, MS

Highlights

  • Sam Kendricks, Oxford MS, improved on his 16-6.25 pole vault PR by winning the event with a jump fo 17-0 for a US# 5.

Doherty Spartan Invitational, CO

Highlights

  • Kaela Edwards, Littleton CO, won the 800 meter run with a US# 8 time of 2:09.05.

 

6th Puma/Henderson Invitational, PA

Highlights

  • Haley Pierce, Tatnall PA, won the 800 meter run in 2:10.99 for a US#10.  Teammate Reagan Anderson finished a close 2nd in 2:11.13 for a US#11.

  • Greg Skipper, OR, placed 2nd in the collegiate hammer throw with a toss of 228-06 with all of his throws over 200 feet.

  • Artie Burns, Miami Northwestern, won the 110 hurdles with a US Sophomore record time of 13.63!!  The time took down Wayne Davis' 13.65 from 2007.
  • The boys 4x400 was a great way to close out a meet with St. Thomas Aquinas and Miami Northwestern battling the entire way as a thrilling anchor leg came down to the last few strides.  St. Thomas Aquinas took the win in 3:13.80 while Miami Northwestern finished 2nd in 3:13.97.
  • Marvin Bracy, Boone FL, blasted a wind-legal 10.39 to win the boys 100 meter dash over Hugh Graham Jr, 10.55.
  • Bracy then came back for the 200 meter dash, which he won in 21.24.
  • Miami Northwestern FL won the girls 4x400 relay with a time of 3:50.51.
  • Tynia Gaither, Osceola FL, won the girls 100 dash with a time of 11.41 and the 200 dash with a quick 23.75.
  • Arman Hall, St. Thomas Aquinas, won a tight and fast 400 dash over Hugh Graham Jr. with times of 46.22 to 46.72!
  • Kendall Ellis, St. Thomas Aquinas FL, won the girls 400 dash with a time of 54.83.
  • Armando Del Valle, Columbus FL, pulled an impressive double with wins in the 1600 and 3200.  Del Valle clocked 4:09.49 in the 1600 and then came back with a solid 9:09.08 in the 3200 to clip Ryan Pickering, John I. Leonard FL, 9:12.17.  
  • Columbus boys won a close 4x800 race over John I Leonard with times of 7:49.81 to 7:52.93 with Armando Del Valle pulling relay duty to capture 3 golds on the day.
  • DerRenae Freeman, West Orange FL, let rip a 20-00.75 long jump for the 4A state win as Clariwin Dameus, Santaluces FL, was 2nd in 19-6.50.

  • Charlotte, FL, boys rolled in the 4x800 with a FL#4 All-TIme clocking of 7:40.44.  Tyler Cardillo anchored with a solid 1:52 split.
  • Robin Reynolds impresses again!  FLRunners recap:
    • Robin Reynolds has done it again.  After winning four events as a freshman, but only 3/4 last year as a sophomore, the Miami Jackson junior has once again swept her events.  She started with the long jump a huge 19-11, followed with an 11.67 in the 100, then the 400 meter convincingly in 53.91, and finally closed the deal with a 23.95 in the 200.  All were wind legal.
  • Tyler Cardillo came back off of his 4x800 anchor to win the 1600 meter run over Jimmy Clark as the pair dueled down the home straight.  The final score was Cardillo 4:11.27, Clark 4:11.83.

 

Lindy J. Remigino Invite, CT

Highlights

  • Lindsay Crevoiserat, Glastonbury CT, used her typical front-running style to take down the field with a swift 4:48.25 Mile win.
  • Super Sophs entertain in the 400!  Precious Holmes, CT and Sydnee Over, CT, blasted the 400 meter dash with Holmes winning in 53.95 to Over's 53.97!

    • Aaron Ernest won the 100 dash finals with a meet record time of 10.33 with a legal wind.
    • Aaron Ernest, Homewood AL, was the fastest qualifier in the 100 and 200 with wind-legal times of 10.45 and 20.91.

 

Essex County Relays, NJ

Highlights

  • Edward Cheserek, St. Benedict's Prep NJ, just can't help but run fast whenever he steps on a track.  Cheserek began his evening with a runner-up finish in the 4x1600 relay with a 4:05.8 split to nearly catch Millburns Blake Udland, 4:12.  He then anchored St. Benedict's to a runner-up finish in the 4x800 with a split of 1:52.7.  And perhaps most impressively, he then led St. Benedict's to the victory in the Sprint Medley with a meet record time of 3:27.58.  Cheserek split a 1:50.2 in that relay!

  • Cedar Hills UT girls won the 4x100 relay with a 3A state record time of 47.90 (See photo above).  
  • Austin West, American Fork UT, blasted a 9:04.75 3200 for #9 All-Time in Utah (See photo above).
  • Megan Glassman, Park City UT, won the javelin with a toss of 143-3 (See photo above).
  • In the boys 100 dash prelims Tyler Sorenson, Richfield UT, and Drake Walker, Bear River UT, set the stage for an exciting final tomorrow by posting identical qualifying times of 10.91.  
  • Lauren Baxter, Timpview UT, leads qualifying in the 200 dash (24.95) and the 400 dash (55.45).
  • Angela Shields, Hurricane UT, is the fastest qualifier in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.17.
