PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Shawn Souvenir finished 6th in the men's triple jump to lead Savannah State at the 2011 Penn Relays held at Franklin Field. Souvenir had a leap of 14.78m

Amber Hughes represented the SSU women in the triple jump and finished 22nd overall with a leap of 11.48m.

The Savannah State men's sprint medley squad (Darrius Baker, Eric Plump, Tyrone McCoy and Etchien Assinzo)was 7th with a time of 3:28.62, the 4x800m relay team (McCoy, Kris Ballou, Ruben Isreal-McBee and Etchien) was 13th in their heat and26th overall with a run of 7:51.22 and the 4x400m relay team (McCoy, Price, Baker and Assinzo) finished 6th in their heat and 32nd overall with a time of 3:17.24.

The women's 4x200m relay squad (Amara Jones, Jazy Seay-Blane, Hughes and Aleah Hordges) placed 7th in their heat and 31st overall with a time of 1:40.93 while the 4x400m relay team (Hordges, Seay-Blane, Hughes and Jones) placed 9th in their heat and 32nd overall with a run of 3:49.14.
