NEW ORLEANS- After winning their second straight Atlantic Sun Outdoor Conference Championship, the Kennesaw State men's track and field team is now ranked in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Outdoor South Region, the organization announced on Monday.

The squad jumped onto the list after a stellar weekend that saw a blowout of the competition at the conference meet. In good company, Kennesaw State finds themselves in the middle of some of the best teams from the South including Georgia, Florida State, Florida and nearby rival Georgia Tech.

"The fact that we have gone from not being ranked to number nine on the list is just a testament to how well our team performed this weekend," head track and field coach Andy Eggeth said. "To see our name amongst other top programs from the South means we are moving in the right direction and that the team's hard work is paying off."

Continuing their season in two weeks, the Owls will split with part of the team going to Penn Relays in Philadelphia and others heading to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays, April 28-30.
