MACON, Ga.- After a stellar performance at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, Kendall Parks earned his first Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week award, the conference announced on Wednesday. This is the second straight week a Kennesaw State men's athlete has been given the award as Jaakko Nieminen was given the honor last week.

"It is great for Kendall to receive recognition at this point of the season," head track and field coach Andy Eggerth said. "Even though he received the award, we still expect him to improve on his time and know that he can get better from this point on."

Parks finished first in the 110 meter hurdles at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with a time of 14.10 seconds that tied for his already held school record. The week before, he broke the record at the Georgia Intercollegiate while also winning the event. His time currently ranks him first in the A-Sun and 19th nationally.

This weekend Parks will get a chance to defend his A-Sun award at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic, April 1-2.
