The Atlanta Track Club Foundation and Atlanta Youth Running Foundation are teaming up once again to invest in the future of the sport, offering two $10,000 college scholarships to standout high school cross country and track & field athletes across metro Atlanta.
The scholarships will be awarded this spring, with recipients recognized in front of the region's top talent at the Powerade All-Metro Track & Field Banquet in June.
Honoring Legacies That Shaped Atlanta Running
These scholarships pay tribute to Patty Foell and Hawthorne Wesley, two influential figures whose impact continues to shape the Atlanta running community.
Foell was known for her fierce competitiveness and consistent presence at the front of local races as a member of Atlanta Track Club's Competitive Team. Wesley dedicated his efforts to expanding access and opportunity in the sport, championing youth development and helping create pathways for young runners to thrive.
Atlanta Track Club Foundation and Atlanta Youth Running Foundation are proud to honor their legacies by supporting student-athletes who are strong competitors and driven, community-minded individuals.
Who's Eligible?
Applicants must:
-Be a graduating senior from a metro Atlanta high school
-Compete in cross country and/or track & field
-Show competitive success with plans to continue at the collegiate level
-Maintain strong academic standing
-Demonstrate financial need
Student-athletes can apply directly or be nominated by a coach, mentor, or supporter.
Eligible students must live in or attend school within the All-Metro Atlanta area.
Recipients will be officially announced at the All-Metro banquet in June.
