What are your high school PR's so far?
110h: 13.84
300h: 38.8
200: 21.98
What are your college plans, if you have them figured out?
I plan to go to Howard university with coach David Oliver on a full ride scholarship
What's your most memorable race or race you're most proud of?
2025 USATF Junior Olympics, when I broke 14 for the first time and dropped my time by .5 at that meet.
What has been your biggest challenge in high school or what has been the hardest obstacle to overcome?
Definitely when I got injured back to back years (sophomore/junior year). It took a lot on my mental at the time but my coaches continued to give me motivation everyday to keep pushing and that is exactly what I did, and now I'm where I'm at now. Completely healthy and ready to continue running fast.
What is your typical warm up routine and/or weight room routine like?
My warmup routine is pretty slow paced but when I'm doing all of drills they are explosive and fast so that all my muscles are warm and completely ready to work. I usually start off with a jog then I get into buildups, then to hip mobility, then to drills such as a-skip, b-skip, etc. then lastly I do my prehab exercises that make sure all my muscles are firing correctly.
What do you think is the biggest part of training that has helped you achieve success?
Definitely my flat speed training. I started training flat speed a lot more than just doing straight hurdle workouts. The progress though not very visible at first becomes apparent as time goes.
What is your all time favorite workout?
My favorite workout is definitely a drill we call 335333. It's where the spacing for the hurdles is regular until you get to the third in which you now 5 step instead of 3 stepping which allows me to bring more speed into the the next three hurdles. It made my body get used to faster tempos in between and over hurdles and is really fun to do once it's like muscle memory
What is your least favorite or hardest workout?
Definitely the workout where I had 3 500's. That is the workout of doom and despair...
Who do you have to thank for your success?
All of my coaching staff not only at my school but the coaches the train me during club season. Shoutout to Coach Jones, Coach Dukes, Coach Campbell, Coach Jas, Coach Moss, and all other coaches who have mentored me these last 4 years I am forever grateful for them.
Who do you look up to the most in your event?
Definitely jakobe Tharp, the way he never sits or becomes flat footed in between and is always able to produce at the highest levels is really inspiring to me.
What gets you pumped up for a training session or race?
Honestly, if I know i have short hurdle practice I am always excited for it wether it's blocks or hurdle endurance. I love sharpening my craft over hurdles.
What is your favorite food and/or movie and/or TV show and/or song?
My favorite food is sweet honey cornbread, it's literally the best.
Favorite tv show is definitely a show called "the Witcher".
Favorite song at the current moment is "intercontinental" by the artist pz'. The flow and sound of the song is really nice.
What will you miss the most about high school?
My teammates for sure. I'm gonna miss all of the pre practice yap sessions, bus rides, TikTok dances, etc, especially my hurdle teamates.
What advice would you give your younger self
I'd tell my younger self to trust the process, always do recovery after practice, and keep God first in everything that you do.
