I run a 43.6 in the 300-meter hurdles and a 14.4 in the 100-meter hurdles
What are your college plans, if you have them figured out?
I will be attending Troy University to continue my track and field career and pursue a career in nursing.
What's your most memorable race or race you're most proud of?
Becoming region champ in the 300-meter hurdles in my first year running hurdles.
What has been your biggest challenge in high school or what has been the hardest obstacle to overcome?
Being a student-athlete, I set aside time to get my schoolwork done in between recovery and practicing.
What is your typical warm up routine and/or weight room routine like?
I begin with my normal slow stretching, then move into slow hurdle stretching, and after that, I go into my hurdle drills. Lastly I go into my hip flexor drills.
What do you think is the biggest part of training that has helped you achieve success?
Consistency is key making sure I run past the finish line every rep and give it my all. Also, eating right before a meet is very important.
What is your all time favorite workout?
A short hurdle workout that consists of 2 reps of 8 hurdles, 2 sets of 4 hurdles, and then 1 to 3 hurdles
What is your least favorite or hardest workout?
A hard 600 meter breakdown workout that consists of a 600, then a 500, then a 400, then a 300, and then a 200, then finally a 100.
Who do you have to thank for your success?
First, God; then my parents for everything they have done for me; my coaches for always pushing me to my limits; and especially my Jackrabbit Track Club family for being my first and only track home.

sydney mclaughlin-levrone and Masai Russell
What gets you pumped up for a training session or race?
Listening to music or finding a quiet place to close my eyes.
What is your favorite food and/or movie and/or TV show and/or song?
My favorite food is Thai food, my favorite TV show is Breaking Bad, and my favorite song is "Weston Road Flows" by Drake.
What will you miss the most about high school?
The friends I have made along the way, as well as the new experiences and bonds I have formed with the younger hurdlers on my team.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Your plan might not be the right plan, so sit back and let God's timing show you the way.
