SHREVEPORT, La.- Announced this week by the USTFCCCA, the Kennesaw State men’s cross country team was ranked eighth for the South region. Fellow A-Sun schools on the list are Belmont in ninth and Lipscomb at 15th.

Fresh off their Atlantic Sun conference championship last season, the team returns a core group of runners including Nathan Haskins, Nabil Hamid and Jaakko Nieminen while welcoming new faces in four freshmen.

Topping the list in first is athletic powerhouse Alabama followed by Florida State and Florida rounding out the top three. Cross country coach Stan Sims is proud to be included with some a prestigious group.

“It’s nice to see our team up there,” Sims said. “Those are a good group of competitors so to be included with them shows the strength of our team.”
