Women's NCAA East Region Performance List

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls women's track and field program declared five individuals for consideration to compete in the NCAA Track and Field East Regional, which begins on May 27 at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C. The field will be announced on Friday at 5 p.m.

This is the first time that the Owls, who are the reigning Atlantic Sun Conference indoor and outdoor champions, are eligible to compete in an NCAA Division I Regional, as the athletic department just completed the NCAA’s mandatory, four-year Division I re-classification process.

In order to make it into next Thursday’s event, those individuals who are declared must have one of the top-48 performances in their particular event among those who have been declared. Relay teams must be in the top 24.

The regional site essentially will serve as the host of the first two rounds of the NCAA National Track and Field Championships, which will be held at the University of Oregon beginning June 9. The field of 48 competitors in each event will be pared down to 24, and then again to 12, with the final 12 at the East Regional joining the final 12 from the West Regional at the national championship.

The final field of competitors will be announced on Friday at 5 p.m. at the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association website, ustfccca.org.
