Sharonda Redfield finished second in the women's triple jump as Savannah State participated in the 116th Penn Relays held at Franklin Field.
Redfield had a leap of 12.53m (41-1.5). Teammate
Amber Hughes placed seventh with a jump of 11.95m (39-2.5).
The SSU women's 4x200m relay team (
Amara Jones,
Kendra Carter,
Aleah Hordges, and
Mekela Martin) had a time of 1:40.09 to place 32nd overall. SSU finished 8th in their heat.
The women's 4x400m relay team (Hordges, Carter, Jones and Martin) had a run of 3:51.07 and finished 42nd overall and 5th in their heat.
The 4x100m relay team (Carter, Jones, Hordges and Martin) finished 46th overall and finished 7th in their heat with a run of 47.44.
Shawn Sovnenir was the top finisher among the SSU men by placing 7th in the triple jump with a leap of 14.59m (47-10.5).
The sprint medley relay team (
Darrius Baker,
Eric Plump, Chaz Price and
Tyrone McCoy) placed 20th overall and 2nd in their heat with a run of 3:26.50.
The SSU 4x400m relay squad (Price, Baker, McCoy and Plump) had a time of 3:17.16 and finished 37th overall and 7th in their heat.
