MACON, Ga. – Suzzette Van-Lare won her second Atlantic Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Week award for performance at the Gem of the Hills Invitational at Jacksonville State University, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Van-Lare, a sophomore, competed in the High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump this past Saturday, taking home first-place accolades in the Long Jump and Triple Jump with leaps of 5.71 meters and 11.89 meters, respectively. Her top clearance of 1.60 meters in the High Jump was good for fifth place in the event, which was won by senior teammate Jakia Ragland at 1.70 meters.

Suzzette, a Health and Exercise Science major, also took home A-Sun Athlete of the Week honors on February 17 during the indoor track season after her solid performance in the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the UNC Invitational. She is currently the indoor program record-holder in the Long Jump with a top mark of 5.92 meters.

“I am so blessed to have [Jumps] Coach [William] Goss and my teammates pushing me to be the best,” said Van-Lare.

Suzzette and several of her teammates will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to compete in the Sea Ray Relays this weekend, hosted by the University of Tennessee.
