CULLOWHEE, N.C.- The Kennesaw State women’s track and field team continues their outdoor season this weekend when they travel to Western Carolina to take part in the Beynon Sports Surfaces Catamount Classic, beginning on Saturday.

Following a successful first meet two weekends ago at Coastal Carolina, the Owls will continue to take steps towards preparing for a run at their second Atlantic Sun Conference outdoor title in three years. The early results were promising, as 18 Owls finished in the top ten and a school record was broken by Kennesaw State.

Head Coach Don McGarey’s squad have the opportunity this weekend to have his athletes go up against some A-Sun competition, as USC-Upstate and East Tennessee State will be present at the meet.
In addition to preparing for conferences, the Owls will each individually be focusing on qualifying for the

NCAA Outdoor East Regional, to take place in Greensboro, N.C. beginning May 27. The top 48 results from each event in the East Region, which makes up most schools east of the Mississippi River, will be qualify for regionals, which feeds directly into the NCAA Outdoor National Championships.
