2025 Georgia T&F Senior Spotlight: Vincent Nnanna

Senior spotlight is an attempt to let athletes tell as much of their own story as we can. We want to take a look into some of the things that make them tick. If you are a senior who was top 10 in Georgia last year in your event and want to be featured, send an email to milesplitga@gmail.com

Here we've got Vincent Nnanna from Alpharetta for a senior spotlight moment:

What are your college plans, if you have them figured out?

I have committed to Rice University and will be majoring in Business.

What's your most memorable race or race you're most proud of?

My most memorable race was the 4x400m at NBNO where my relay team earned All-American status. It was amazing running the oval in Franklin Field.

What has been your biggest challenge in high school or what has been the hardest obstacle to overcome?

The biggest challenge in high school has been doing it all.

What is your typical warm up routine and/or weight room routine like?

My warm up routine always consists of a warm up lap followed by dynamic stretches and drills. My hurdle warm up consists of going over hurdles walking, skipping, and running.

What do you think is the biggest part of training that has helped you achieve success?

Taking what I worked on in practice to the next day has played a major role in my success. I also ask questions in order to make sure I understand what coaches are telling me.

What is your all time favorite workout?

My all time favorite workout is working on the 110m or 300m hurdle through hurdle 4 or 5.

What is your least favorite or hardest workout?

My least favorite workout is broken 500s either split into 2-1-2 or 3-2 with short rest between each distance.

Who do you have to thank for your success?

I have my parents, coaches, teammates, and friends to thank for their support.

Who do you look up to the most in your event?

I look up most to Rai Benjamin and Grant Holloway in their respective events.

What gets you pumped up for a training session or race?

Applying what I learned and perfecting my craft especially in the hurdles. Those are the most technical races.

What is your favorite food and/or movie and/or TV show and/or song?

Favorite food: Pesto pasta with shrimp is my go to pre-meet meal.
Favorite movie:  Fantastic Mr. Fox
Favorite song:  Freudian by Daniel Caesar. I love music. My top artists of the past year were Tyler the Creator, Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, and Steve Lacy.

What will you miss the most about high school?

The camaraderie of the track team, my coaches, and teachers.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Keep listening and trust the process. I'd recommend that my younger self learn to love running hills and hard workouts
