JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.- Savannah State had six top ten finishes in the 32nd Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State. The two day event was held at ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
For the SSU women,
Amara Jones placed second in the 400m race with a time of 56.35 and was third in the 200m with a time of 24.81.
The 4x400m relay team (
Kendra Carter,
Mekela Martin, Jones and
Amber Hughes) were sixth in their race with a run of 3:57.06 and Hughes had a leap of 38-07.00 which was good enough for eighth in the triple jump.
Marcus Stallworth finished sixth in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.43.
The men's 4x400m relay team (
Darrius Baker,
Tyrone McCoy,
Eric Plump and
Chazwyn Price) placed eighth with a time of 3:19.64.
