NASHVILLE, Tn.-
Amara Jones won the women's 400m and placed second in the 200m to lead Savannah State in the 10th annual Ed Temple Classic held at the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track in the Gentry Center on the campus of Tennessee State.
Jones posted a time of 59.25 in the 400m race and a 25.69 in the 200m race.
Eric Plump won the men's 55m race with a time of 6.32.
Kendra Carter was seventh in the women's 55m race with a 7.34 and the women's 4x400m relay team (Carter,
Latasha Wright,
Aleah Hordges and Jones) finished third with a time of 3:59.11.
In the field events,
Amber Hughes was third in the long jump with a leap of 5.32m. Hughes was second in the triple jump (11.61m) and
Sharonda Redfield placed third with a jump of 11.44m.
The men's 4x400m relay squad (
Darrius Baker,
Tyrone McCoy, Plump and
Chazwyn Price) was second in their event with a run of 3:21.58. Baker was third in the 200m race with a time of 22.41 and the distance medley team (McCoy,
Gabriel Davis, Etchien Assinzo and
Ruben Isreal-McBee) was third in their race with a time of 11:04.92.
